owner of Fleischmann sees no future for main factory.
The new owner of the traditional Frankish model railways manufacturer
Fleischmann, Franz-Josef Haslberger, wants to dissolve the factory in
Nuremberg and cut down on jobs. Some part of the production will be
moved to abroad. This is already confirmed by Haslberger in a newspaper
Modelleisenbahn Holding GmbH maintains Franken als place
of business, according to the emplyees council by Harald Gottschalk.
There is no future left for the factories in Nuremberg and Dinkelsbhl.
Fleischmann will concentrate in Heilsbronn.
The company will be trimmed down to 225 jobs, all in
Heilsbronn. At this time 340 employees work at Fleischmann. 115 persons
will have to leave Fleischmann.
Also officially announced is the partial relocation of the production to
Romania. Which departments will be relocated is unknown at this time.
We are are brought down to earth with a bum, explains
Gottschalk. We always thought Fleischmann was going uphill. Now we have
to admit that only a radical reorganization can save Fleischmann.
For the rest: Fleischmann and Roco will be maintained as
two separate identities.
